What is Hybrid Mode and How Does It Work for the Reveal X Gen 2.0?

How Does HyBrid Mode Work?

• Hybrid mode is a cross between the daily and instant settings check
• When you receive a picture on your app, that camera will stay connected to the server for 5 minutes.
• After the 5 minutes, the camera will stop pinging the cell tower constantly until either activity restarts the 5 minutes OR the normal check-in time occurs

What Does This Mean for You?

• You have the advantage of having instant settings changes and video requests when it is triggered by activity for 5 minutes without consuming as much battery power or cell data
• Faster photo delivery
  • With the camera connected to the server during the 5 minutes, it allows for quicker transmission of photos
• Faster HD Video and Photo Transmission
  • If you request an HD photo or video within 5 minutes of getting a photo, the picture/video will show up within the 5 minutes
• Quicker Settings Change
  • Change the settings after you receive a photo, hit apply and they will take effect before the 5 minutes is up.

How To Install Batteries In The Tactacam Reveal X Gen 2.0

1. Press the EJECT button on the Reveal X near the bottom.
2. Install the batteries in the correct orientation on the front of the tray.

Which Batteries To Use For Tactacam Reveal X Gen 2.0?

The recommended batteries for the Tactacam Reveal X are:

• Energizer Lithium Ion
• Duracell Max Alkaline
• Rayovac UltraPro Alkaline

Use lithium-ion batteries in cold weather for best performance. Alkaline batteries will lose 60% of their useful life in temperatures below freezing.

Skip using AA batteries and use the new rechargeable lithium battery cartridge

How Many Pictures To Expect With Lithium and Alkaline Batteries in Gen 2.0 Reveal X?

With lithium-ion batteries, you can expect to get 4000+ pictures.

With alkaline batteries, you can expect to get 2500+ pictures

How To Add Your Tactacam Reveal X Gen 2.0 To The APP

The first thing you’ll want to do is download the Reveal App from your App store.

1. Open the Reveal App
2. Click the camera icon at the bottom
3. Click the (+) in the upper right corner to select your data plan and add your camera
4. Select the data plan for your camera and enter your payment information
5. Follow the prompts to connect your camera

How To Activate Your Reveal X Gen 2.0 Camera

There are two ways to activate your camera. The easiest way is to scan the QR Code inside the door of your camera. The second way is to pair over a wifi connection. It does not require your phone or camera to be hooked up to your home or work wifi. It will pair to your phone using a Wifi connection, similar to linking devices via Bluetooth. Follow the prompts on your phone to connect to your camera. Once complete, this will activate the SIM card and data plan.

After your camera is activated, you will see the signal status indicator searching. It will then connect and show the signal strength. you can automatically change and apply the camera settings when your phone is connected to the camera’s Wifi. This will not work unless you are next to the camera.

Important Note: You can also remotely change the camera settings from the App, it will take up to 24 hours for settings to be applied.

Will The Tactacam Reveal X Gen 2.0 Allow Me To Send A Test Picture?

YES! Once, the camera is connected to a 4G signal, the LED signal indicator will be constant green. After the camera is connected, push the “test” button. You will see the light blinking as the image is sending. When the test picture sends successfully, the status light will turn green. If it turns green, there may have been an issue trying to send the test photo. This error is usually caused by signal strength.

Tips For Mounting Your Tactacam Reveal X Gen 2.0 In The Field.

1. While connected to your phone with Wifi, you will be able to access a live preview to help with the camera setup and placement
2. Ensure the antenna is securely tightened.
3. Wipe down the seal, removing dirt and debris
4. Format your Class 10 U3 SD Card
5. Be sure to test with a motion detected picture before you leave the property

What About Paying For The Cellular Coverage?

Setting up your payment is done through the app as soon as you download it. There’s no activating a SIM card, calling a phone company, or logging into a computer.

How Expensive Are The Plans? 

There are currently 3  different plans you can choose from to get your pictures sent directly to the app. 

Pro Plan– $13/month for unlimited pictures

Intermediate Plan– $8/month for 500 monthly pictures

Starter Plan– $5/month for 250 monthly pictures

You also have the option to pay for a yearly subscription and save an average of 14% per year compared to paying monthly.

All of these are a small price to pay to keep from spooking deer every time you go check a trail camera.

Which Cellular Company Does The Tactacam Reveal X Gen 2.0 Work With?

The Reveal currently comes in two different models. One has Verizon cell service and the other has AT&T cellular service. As long as you have cell service at your hunting location, you will get service with the cameras.

Do I Need To Have Cellular Service With Verizon or AT&T to have a Tactacam Reveal X Gen 2.0?

No, You do not. These cell cameras operate independently of your mobile phone service. Your current cell phone provider does not matter with these cameras. 

Does The Reveal X Gen 2.0 Send Videos To the App?

YES! The Reveal X Gen 2.0 will have the capability to download HD pictures and video on demand right on the app. The Tactacam Reveal SK and Reveal XB also have the capability to send videos to the app.
